I hope this message finds you well. I have a few updates I wanted to pass along this morning.
First, a new year and a new team presents us with the opportunity to rethink the way we use the ICH to drive systems change and coordinate efforts across our community. We’ll be moving to a quarterly meeting, with the first meeting of 2015 planned for March. The focus of the March meeting with be our new 5 year Strategic Plan. I am currently working with the City Administrator and Deputy Mayor Donald to finalize the meeting calendar for the year. We will share this as soon as the dates are confirmed.
Second, I wanted to alert you that I have transitioned over to the Wilson Building and will be housed in Deputy Mayor Donald’s Office (new contact information below). In addition, I am VERY excited to introduce you to two new team members that will be joining me the week of February 16 to assist with the work of the interagency council. Many of you already know Kimberly Henderson, who is going to be detailed to me from CFSA. In addition, Theresa Silla will be joining me as a Policy Fellow through the end of the fiscal year, thanks to generous support from our partners at the William S. Abell Foundation, the Meyer Foundation, and the Naomi and Nehemiah Cohen Foundation. Please join me in welcoming them to the team!
Finally, I wanted to remind you that we are in the midst of accepting nominations for the open seats on the ICH. We will be filling the following vacancies:
- Up to seven seats for service providers;
- Up to four seats for individuals that are currently experiencing or have formerly experienced homelessness; and
- Up to two seats for advocates.
It is important to note that individuals currently in a seat that is set to expire in 2015 must submit a nomination form in order to be considered for a subsequent term. All nominations must be submitted to the ICH Executive Committee (c/o Darrell Cason at firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday, February 20th. Please keep in mind that individuals may nominate themselves, and they do not have to be a District resident to serve on the ICH. Please review the attached message for additional information.
