Mayor Gray releases Age-Friendly DC strategic plan at regular presser Dec. 10

Mayor Gray will release the Sustainable DC final report and the Age-Friendly DC strategic plan Wednesday, December 10 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the D.C. Armory (2001 East Capitol St SE, Ceremonial Room).

WHAT/WHO:   Mayor Vincent C. Gray will be joined by District Department of the Environment (DDOE) Office of Policy and Sustainability Director Brendan Shane and Age-Friendly D.C. Program Coordinator Gail Kohn to announce the release of two major documents: The final Sustainable DC Task Force Report, and the Age-Friendly DC Strategic Plan. The documents will guide the continued implementation of two of Mayor Gray's most important initiatives.

BACKGROUND:   Sustainable DC and Age-Friendly DC have been two of the Gray Administration's signature initiatives to improve the quality of life for all District residents. Sustainable DC is a comprehensive effort to make the District the greenest, healthiest, most sustainable city in the nation. Age-Friendly DC is a comprehensive effort to align the District with World Health Organization standards for age-friendliness, making the District inclusive and accessible for all residents regardless of age.
