The public is encouraged to give feedback on the Service Members, Veterans and their Families draft action plan at the October 1 community feedback meeting.
The Service Members, Veterans and their Families Workgroup (SMVF) was established in partnership with the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) to improve behavioral health care systems for Service Members, Veterans and their Families. The Workgroup is led by the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services and the Department of Behavioral Health.
The Service Members, Veterans and their Families action plan will guide the ongoing work of DC government agencies. The draft action plan was developed by Workgroup members; members represent more than 60 District and federal government agencies and community partners.
Before the plan is finalized, the Workgroup needs feedback from the community. Feedback will help the District strengthen the behavioral health care systems and services for service members, veterans and their families. There are three ways for the public to weigh in:
- Attend the public meeting on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 1 pm to 3 pm
- Complete the online survey (coming soon)
- Email DMHHS
