Washingtology is the War of 1812. Written a year ago, War of 1812: The National Portrait Gallery’s 'A Nation Emerges' Reviewed considers the exhibit, which closed earlier this year. Thankfully, the exhibit is available online. A quintessential illustration of the war and how Americans felt with the win, or draw depending on it you opt for myth or fact, is We Owe Allegiance to No Crown by John Archibald Woodside (1781–1852).
