Youth ChalleNGe Academy gets a new home

Supporters of the Capital Guardian Youth ChalleNGe Academy operated by the DC National Guard will cut the ribbon on the new academy facility in Laurel, MD July 10 (DATE CORRECTED 7/9 7p).   The new facility, at Oak Hill (think New Beginnings' old home), is located on 30 acres and is a renovated 14-building campus.   DC residents between the ages of 16 and 18 will have a new alternative for GED completion through the program.   The program is a partnership between the DC National Guard, the DC government, and the federal government.

Featured guests are to include Mayor Vincent Gray, Sen. Mary Landrieu, and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.
