In an effort to better serve DC’s education stakeholders, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) has embarked on an initiative to create a statewide report card for all public schools. These report cards will build on the success of the Public Charter School Board’s Performance Management Framework and the DCPS Scorecards by providing parents and stakeholders access to a uniform set of school factors and data points across all public schools. The goal of the effort is to provide the most important and relevant comparison information to help parents and stakeholders become more informed consumers regarding their publicly funded school options.
As part of this effort, we are asking you to participate in our discovery process in two ways.
- By completing the survey found at the following link http://srvy.it/10pUgRx. The deadline for responses to the survey has now been extended until 5pm on Friday, June 7, 2013.
- By joining us on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 6:00-7:00 pm for a focus group exploring what information to include in the report card and how to make sure it is accessible and easy to use. The focus group will be held in the 3rd floor conference room of OSSE’s headquarters, located at 810 First St., NE in Washington, DC. To RSVP for this event, please contact Maisha Hayes at email@example.com.
By participating in one or both of these efforts, you will give us insight into what the most important factors are to you when choosing a school for your student and how we can make that information available to you in the most convenient and usable way.
If you have any questions regarding this initiative, please contact Kilin Boardman-Schroyer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
