The latest from Chairman Gray

City Council Chairman Vince Gray has taken on two important issues in the past few days:   bullying and paying for transition.

In a press release, Gray promised swift consideration of a new bill, "Harassment and Intimidation Prevention Act", introduced this week by Ward 5 CM Harry Thomas, Jr. and Gray.   The bill calls on various child- and youth-serving agencies to "establish policies and prevention programs to discourage and address bullying and similar offensive behavior."

On the issue of the mayoral and council chair transitions, Gray introduced a bill to restrict the government resource contribution to in-kind items such as office space and furniture.   Gray has recently said he will not use taxpayer dollars with the economy as it is.   More about this is in a Gray press release.
