Help close the digital divide, attend 10/27 broadband summit

OCTO is hosting the city's second DC Community Broadband Summit (DC-CBS)—a city-wide gathering to address the District's digital divide—October 27, from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm.   The event is being held at Deanwood Community Center and Library (1350 49th St NE).

Will I see you there?

The goal of the event is to equalize access to technology (hardware, training, and online access) by sharing ideas and resources of District residents and the business/non-profit community.   At the summit, OCTO will also share information about broadband stimulus funds DC has received from the feds.

Computer ownership and internet access are considered to be important and related to improved educational outcomes, social ties, and economic development and the District's competitiveness in the region.

For more information or to register for the broadband summit, to to the OCTO web site.
