In the latest What's NEW from the Metropolitan Police Department, the chief announced a new campaign targeted at youth covered by the curfew law to make them aware of the hours and repercussions of violating the law.
According to the newsletter, the campaign is entitled “Are U in?” A new video created by MPD police cadets highlights the message by showing it being texted to a young person who decided to stay out past curfew and gets picked up by the police. The video is supplemented with a series of posters. The message in all media are clear: "If you’re under 17 years of age and you’re out in the District after curfew, you will be picked up."
