DYRS youth offer free lawn service in W5

In late August, the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) announced a lawn service pilot program in Ward 5 for residents who are 65 and older.   The free service provides the opportunity for some young people to become "civically engaged", an important facet of any youth development and rehabilitative approach.   A story in the Washington Informer described both the value to young people and the community response.

Seniors who want to participate in this program should contact DYRS's Kathy Ashe at (202) 576-8397 or Kathy [DOT] Ashe [AT] dc [DOT] gov.
