DC Council hearings noticed in 11/18 DCR

• Joint public hearing on two housing bills November 28:   The Committee on Housing and Workforce Development (At-large CM Michael Brown, chair) and the Committee on Public Services and Consumer Affairs (Ward 7 CM Yvette Alexander, chair) are holding a joint hearing November 28 at 11:00 am.   The committees will hear testimony on B19-190, "Tenant Security Deposits Clarification Amendment Act of 2011" (PDF) and B19-250, "Visitability Requirements Act of 2011" (PDF).   Details about testifying are in the revised hearing notice (PDF).
• Public hearing on ANC boundaries, November 29:   The Committee on Housing and Workforce Development (At-large CM Michael Brown, chair) is holding a hearing on B19-528, "Advisory Neighborhood Commissions Boundaries Act of 2011" (PDF) November 29 at 10:00 am.   Details about testifying are in the hearing notice.   The legislation does not delineate the boundaries.   Rather, the recommended boundaries are in the ward task force reports posted on the Subcommittee on Redistricting page.   Details about testifying are in the hearing notice (PDF).
• Public hearing on teacher bill:   The Committee of the Whole (Council Chairman Kwame Brown, chair) is holding a public hearing on B19-576, "Highly Effective Teacher Incentive Act of 2011" (PDF) December 14 at Noon.   The purpose of the hearing is to hear from members of the public about the proposed legislation.   Details about testifying are in the hearing notice (PDF).
