The Committee of the Whole (Council Chairman Kwame Brown, chair) is holding a public oversight roundtable on "Middle Grades Education in the District: Preparing our Students for Success in High School and Beyond" September 7 at 10:00 am in the JAWB. According to the notice, "The purpose of the roundtable is to allow middle grades experts, families, students and other community members to discuss the District’s current approach to educating students in grades 6-8 and best practices for moving forward." The Committee on Housing and Workforce Development (At-large CM Michael Brown, chair) is holding a public roundtable on the implementation of the FY 2011 Summer Youth Employment Program.
