Miscellany from the government

  • MOCRS (Mayor's Office of Community Relations and Services) has a new name:   Office of Neighborhood Engagement.   Note, the website is still mocors.dc.gov.
  • Francisco Fimbres, ONE (see above) director, is on Twitter, @Director4One.
  • ONE has a blog, Office of Neighborhood Engagement.
  • The Committee of the Whole is holding a public hearing on B19-0211, "South Capitol Street Tragedy Memorial Act of 2011" on June 2 at Noon in the Council Chamber.   Deets, including how to register to testify, are in the hearing notice (Word, .doc).   Information about the legislation, introduced by CM Catania, is online.
  • DC Public Schools wants input from the community:   DCPS is entering year four of the five-year strategic plan stared in 2007.   The agency is reviewing and updating the plan and wants the community to share their hopes and dreams; the survey is here.
  • The Catania Chronicle:   At-large CM David Catania has just started an electronic newsletter.   The newsletter will keep you updated on the work of his office and provide an opportunity to give feedback on issues that matter to you.   Sign up for mailing list.
  • The Committee on the Judiciary has shared their May 18 hearing overview update (PDF).
  • City Council public hearings:   The Committee of the Whole and other committees have scheduled a number of hearings for the month of June including confirmation hearings.   The information is on the City Council website.
