Why blue for Child Abuse Prevention Month?

The Blue Ribbon Campaign began in Virginia in 1989 when Bonnie W. Finney, tied a blue ribbon to the antenna of her car as a way to remember her grandson who died as a result of abuse and to alert her community to the tragedy of child abuse.
