There are events being held across the city – from policy fora to training workshops to family events. Details about the events are in the Child Abuse Prevention Month Calendar (PDF).
Safe Shores - The DC Children's Advocacy Center, for example, is offering training workshops in Wards 1, 2, 4, and 7, all co-sponsored by one or more members of the City Council. The first 30 registrants for each training attend for free. The schedule is here.
And in recognition of Safe Shores and their work to prevent child sexual abuse, I am giving a mug rug to the first six people who make a $20 donation to Safe Shores. To pick the mug rug you want, visit Susie's crafty fundraiser for Safe Shores.
