Ward 7 loses child and family advocate

Lillian Barnes, a Ward 7 resident who was active in the early days of the Collaborative movement and the creation of the East River Family Strengthening Collaborative, died December 10.

I met Lillian in my early days at DC Action for Children and she was a great ambassador to the east side of the Anacostia River.   I learned a lot from her and will miss her.

The funeral for Lillian is being held December 23 at 10:00 am at the Breath of Life Faith Church located at 311 Addison Road South, Capital Heights, MD.
