Candidate forum on education

The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region and Communities for Education Organizing are holding this forum August 18 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Charles Sumner School (1201 17th St NW).   Candidates for mayor, City Council chairman and at-large seats are invited.   Parents and students will moderate the forum which will focus on improving public education.   Learn where each candidate stands on:   The mayoral school take-over, parental involvement, college readiness, ESL, City Council oversight of education issues, and improving graduation rates.   RSVP to Empower DC, 234-9119.
