Committee on Health public hearings and roundtables

Recently noticed are the following child- and youth-related hearings/roundtables:
  • Public hearing on B18-127, "Blood Donation Expansion Act of 2009," July 6:   The Committee on Health (At-large CM David Catania, chair) is holding this hearing at 2:00 pm in the JAWB.   More information, including how to register to testify, is in the hearing notice.
  • Public roundtable on Youth Mental Health Programs and Services on July 8:   The Committee (At-large CM David Catania, chair) and the Committee on Human Services (Ward 6 CM Tommy Wells, chair) are holding this joint public roundtable at 10:00 am in the JAWB.   The purpose of this roundtable is to hear a preliminary report from Nixon Peabody about its findings related to preventing youth violence (more here).   The roundtable will be open to the public but only invited witnesses will be permitted to provide oral statements.   More information, including how to submit a written statement, is in the hearing notice.
  • Public oversight hearing on Implementation of the FY 2011 Budget, July 12:   The Committee on Health (At-large CM David Catania, chair) is holding this hearing at 10:00 am in the JAWB.   The purpose is to hear from the Department of Mental Health, Department of Health, and Department of Health Care Finance about how they will implement the budget and particularly how they will avoid spending pressures.   This roundtable will be open to the public; however, only invited witnesses will be permitted to provide oral statements.   More information, including how to submit a written statement, is in the hearing notice.
