Event: Use of Custody GALs in DC Domestic Relations Cases

The Council for Court Excellence Children in the Courts Committee is holding a discussion of the use of custody GALs in DC domestic relations cases.   Unlike the practice for appointing and using counsel in other branches of the Family Court, there are no uniform standards or procedures for use of GALs in domestic relations cases involving child custody.   This discussion seeks to hear disparate views on whether more uniformity is desirable and, if so, what such uniformity might look like.
