Emergency and proposed rules re: Newborn Safe Haven law
Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA) published emergency and proposed rules in the October 30, 2009 DC Register related to the Newborn Safe Haven Temporary Act of 2009 which became effective July 18, 2009. Emergency action was taken to ensure the safety and protection of newborns whose parents wish to relinquish their parental rights. The emergency rules were adopted and became effective on September 1, 2009 and will remain in effect for 120 days from the date of adoption.
