Testify about gang prevention and intervention on May 18

The Committee on Public Safety and the Judiciary will continue hearing testimony on Bill 18-138, “Omnibus Anti-Crime Amendment Act of 2009”, and Bill 18-161, “Public Safety and Justice Amendments Act of 2009.”   The hearing is being held on May 18 starting at 10:30 am in the Council Chamber of the JAWB.  The former bill will make changes to current laws regarding gangs, witness retaliation, and anti-stalking.  Details of the hearing are here.

Those who work with gang and crews should share their experiences with the Council.   Further, community experts should make specific recommendations about the proposed change to the law.
